Student Support

USNC-URSI is pleased to announce that a limited number of awards will be offered to qualifying students to help defray the cost of attending the in-person 2026 National Radio Science Meeting in Boulder, CO. Awards will consist of free student registration and up to three nights stay at the conference hotel. The awards will be dispersed contingent on the availability of funding in the awards program. To be eligible, students must be a full-time (graduate or undergraduate) student at a U.S. university as well as the first author and presenter of a paper accepted for presentation at the 2026 National Radio Science Meeting to be held in Boulder, Colorado.

Award Details:

  • Free student registration, excluding workshops.
  • Up to three nights stay at the Limelight Hotel for students who are not enrolled at CU Boulder. The number of nights is contingent upon funding availability.
    • Students are expected to make their own reservations at the Limelight using the posted registration link. A credit card will be required to hold the reservation (a deposit is not required).
    • If for any reason, a student does not attend the NRSM and does not cancel their hotel reservation at least 48 hours in advance, they will be charged for the first night.
    • At the time of check-in, a credit card will be required to cover incidentals and for nights not covered by the award.
    • Upon check-out, the hotel will check the student's name against the list of awardees, and up to three nights (excluding any incidental expenses and extra nights) will be covered.
  • Attendance at the Plenary Session and Student Mentoring Luncheon is required.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a full-time (graduate or undergraduate) student at a U.S. university.
  • Must be the first author and presenter of a paper accepted for presentation.
